8-Day Trekking in the Mountains

Day 1: Arrival

Transfer to Kolašin (daily tour, Golubovci Airport, Podgorica – Kolašin). On the way from Podgorica to Kolašin, visit the Morača Monastery, which was built in the year 1252. It is one of the most monumental Orthodox medieval monasteries in Montenegro.

Overnight at Bijeli Potok Cabins, set in a beautiful natural environment near a forest and stream. Here, you will meet your host, the owner of the property, Mrs. Ivana Drašković, and enjoy an orientation briefing during dinner.

Day 2: Forest to Izlazak

After breakfast, we begin our walk through the forest toward Izlazak, visiting the Ćirilovac Monastery, and continuing up to Ključ Peak. At Kapela, Ključ, we will rest with coffee and tea before continuing our walk to Krivi Do Katun.

Overnight at the mountain lodge in Krivi Do.

Day 3: Trekking

Trekking across the Bjelasica mountain meadows from Krivi Do to Katun Vranjak, including a visit to Pešića Lake.

Overnight at Eko Katun Vranjak.

Eco Katun Vranjak (Summer Pasture) is located on the border of Biogradska Gora National Park at an altitude of 1,720 meters. During dinner, you will have the opportunity to taste traditional, long-forgotten local dishes. Nighttime brings true mountain magic, with silence broken only by the hoot of an owl or the distant howl of wolves.

An early start offers breathtaking morning sunlight over the surrounding mountain ranges, filling your lungs with fresh alpine air. Enjoy views of Prokletije, Maganik, and Sinjavina.

Day 4: Biogradska Gora National Park

Today’s walk takes place in Biogradska Gora National Park. From Vranjak, we hike near Zekova Glava Peak to Svatovsko Groblje, the spring of the Biogradska River, and descend into the heart of the park to Biogradsko Lake. A short transfer (20 minutes) follows to Kolašin.

Biogradska Gora was declared a national park in 1952. Its most impressive feature is the virgin forest reserve, covering 16 square kilometers, making it one of the last remaining primeval forests in Europe.

Overnight at Bijeli Potok Cabins.

Day 5: Rafting Day

Rafting from Šljivovište to Žugića Luka (part of Durmitor National Park). This is a relaxed rafting experience, allowing you to enjoy untouched nature and a pleasant time on the river.

From Kolašin, we travel approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes along the Tara River to Šljivovište, the rafting starting point. After instructions, we begin a 2 to 2.5-hour rafting journey through the deepest parts of the Tara Canyon.

The route passes the Ljutica River, under the Đurđevića Tara Bridge (365 meters long and 172 meters high), through Zeleni Virovi, and ends at Žugića Luka (approximately 14 km).

After rafting, we relax at the campsite near the Đurđevića Tara Bridge.

Adrenaline lovers may try the zip line across the Tara Canyon.

Famous for its turquoise waters and depth of up to 1,300 meters, the Tara Canyon is the second-largest canyon in the world, after the Grand Canyon.

Transfer to Žabljak for an overnight stay in a 3-star hotel.

Day 6: Walk in Durmitor National Park

A guided walk in Durmitor National Park, including visits to Black Lake and Zmijinje Lake.

Overnight at the hotel in Žabljak.

Day 7: Durmitor National Park & Skadar Lake

A scenic walk combined with sightseeing in Durmitor National Park, including Sedlo Pass, Prutaš, and other natural highlights. On the way to Skadar Lake, we may visit Ostrog Monastery, one of the most important pilgrimage sites in Montenegro, revered worldwide.

Our journey continues to Virpazar, famous for Skadar Lake, the largest lake in the Balkan Peninsula and Montenegro’s largest national park. Enjoy an afternoon lake cruise.

Overnight at a hotel in Virpazar.
