8 DAYS FAMILY TOUR, MONTENEGRO

Day 1: Arrival

Transfer to Kolašin (Golubovci Airport, Podgorica – Kolašin). On the way from Podgorica to Kolašin, we visit Morača Monastery, built in 1252. It is one of the most monumental Orthodox medieval monasteries in Montenegro.

Overnight at Bijeli Potok Cabins, 4★, located in a beautiful natural setting near a forest and a stream.

Day 2: Jeep Tour

Today we enjoy a jeep tour, the “Bjelasica Ring,” through Biogradska Gora National Park, including a visit and walk around Biogradsko Lake.

Lunch will be organized at Katun Dolevi Lalevica, where we will taste traditional Montenegrin cuisine.

Biogradska Gora was proclaimed a National Park in 1952. Its most impressive feature is the virgin forest reserve, covering 16 sq km, protected by a strict conservation system. It is one of the last remaining virgin forests in Europe. Enjoyment guaranteed.

Overnight at Bijeli Potok Cabins.

Day 3: Rafting Day

Rafting day: Splavište – Žugića Luka (part of Durmitor National Park).
This is not extreme rafting but a relaxing experience, allowing you to enjoy untouched and unspoiled nature while having a great time on the river.

From Kolašin, we drive approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes along the Tara River to Splavište, the rafting starting point. After receiving instructions, we begin a 2–2.5 hour rafting tour through the deepest part of the Tara Canyon.

From Splavište Camp, rafting continues past the Ljutica River, under the Đurđevića Tara Bridge (365 m long and 172 m above the river—once the largest vehicular concrete arch bridge in Europe), through Zeleni Virovi, and ends at Žugića Luka (approximately 14 km).

After the tour, we relax and enjoy nature at the campsite near the Đurđevića Tara Bridge.

Adrenaline lovers may also enjoy a zipline ride across the Tara Canyon.

Famous for its turquoise waters and 1,300 m depth, the Tara Canyon is the second-largest canyon in the world, after the Colorado Canyon.

Return to Kolašin.
Overnight at Bijeli Potok Cabins.

Day 4: Horseback Riding Day

After breakfast, we meet the horses and receive instructions from our guide. Once preparations are complete, we ride along streams and through forests toward Izlazak and the Bjelasica meadows.

The ride continues to the Cirilovac Monastery. A visit to the monastery is optional but highly recommended. The nuns warmly welcome guests and often offer refreshments.

After relaxation, we return to Kolašin. For more experienced riders, there is an option to continue up to Kljuc Peak, offering breathtaking views of Kolašin, the surrounding mountains, and the valleys. The ride continues to Eko Katun Vranjak on Bjelasica, before returning near the ski resort to Kolašin.

Overnight at Bijeli Potok Cabins.

Day 5: Free Day

A day at leisure. We recommend a walk through the town and a visit to the Botanical Garden.

Overnight at Bijeli Potok Cabins.

Day 6: Adrenaline Day – Nevidio Canyon

Nevidio Canyon is located near Šavnik, about a 2-hour drive from Kolašin. Preparations for entering the canyon are made upon arrival in Pošćenje village. Passing through the canyon takes approximately 3 hours.

After exiting the canyon, we return to the vehicle for rest and refreshments.

Lunch is recommended as a picnic in nature or at a nearby camp restaurant.

Nevidio Canyon lies in central Montenegro on the slopes of Durmitor Mountain and is part of the Mala Komarnica River, which springs in Dobri Do. Its name, meaning “never seen,” reflects how the river disappears into a dramatically carved entrance. The canyon is about 3 km long, with numerous waterfalls, whirlpools, and narrow passages shaped by water.

In some places, the canyon is less than 1 meter wide, while rock walls rise to 400 meters. When water levels are high, certain sections require climbing equipment. Due to the steep vertical walls, sunlight rarely reaches the bottom, creating harsh conditions for vegetation.

The unique beauty of the gorge, cascades, and sparkling waterfalls makes Nevidio Canyon one of Montenegro’s most extraordinary natural wonders.

As an alternative, for those who prefer a lighter activity, kayaking on the Tara River near Kolašin can be arranged, including guided instruction.

Day 7: Biking / Mountain Biking

Cycling along the Plašnica River through the Lipovo village valley on the slopes of Mount Lipovo.
Mountain biking enthusiasts may also enjoy rides on Sinjavina Mountain, with a visit to Miško’s cheese farm.

Overnight at Bijeli Potok Cabins.
