15 Divine Lakes, 10 Days Trekking Tour

Day 1: Arrival – Kolašin

After arrival at the airport, local hosts will ensure that you enjoy every part of your tour around Montenegro.

We will transfer from Podgorica (the capital of Montenegro) to the northern part of the country, to the town of Kolašin, located at an altitude of 960 m. The drive through the Platije Canyon will certainly be an interesting one. On the way, we will visit the Morača Monastery (built in 1252), one of the most monumental medieval monasteries in Montenegro.

Upon arrival, we will have an orientation briefing during dinner, with a tasting of traditional Montenegrin cuisine.

Overnight at Bijeli Potok Cabins.

Day 2: Kolašin

After breakfast, we prepare for a walk along streams and through forests toward Izlazak, the viewpoint of Kolašin. The walk passes near Cirilovac Monastery and continues up to Kljuc Peak and chapel, followed by a path leading to Katun Krivi Do, where we will have lunch.

After lunch, we continue walking across the Bjelasica meadows to Eko Katun Vranjak (summer pasture Vranjak).

Overnight at Eko Katun Vranjak.

Eko Katun Vranjak is located on the border of Biogradska Gora National Park at an altitude of 1,720 m. During dinner, you will have the opportunity to taste traditional, almost forgotten Montenegrin dishes.

Nighttime brings a special kind of magic, with accommodation in small, comfortable eco-huts for two people. Mountain silence is occasionally broken by the hoot of an owl or the distant howl of wolves.

Early morning offers the first sun rays illuminating the surrounding mountain ranges, filling your lungs with fresh mountain air. You may simply let nature take its course while enjoying views of Prokletije, Maganik, and Sinjavina.

Day 3: Ursulovačko Lake

Today’s trek takes place in Biogradska Gora National Park. From Vranjak, we hike near Zekova Glava Peak and Pešića Lake, then continue to Ursulovačko Lake and Suvodo, where lunch is organized. After visiting Severine and Šiško Lakes, the spring of the Biogradska River, Ogorela Glava, and Medjed, we end the day at Katun Goleš, where we overnight.

Biogradska Gora was proclaimed a National Park in 1952. Its most impressive feature is the virgin forest reserve covering 16 sq km, protected by a strict conservation system. It is one of the last remaining virgin forests in Europe.

Overnight at Katun Goleš.

Day 4: Village Tour

From Katun Goleš, we walk through the village of Moračko Trebaljevo. Crossing the Tara River, we reach the Raj restaurant, where lunch will be served in the shade near the river.

Our walk continues to Markovo Brdo, then onward to Sinjavina Mountain. From Sinjavina viewpoints, we enjoy diverse scenery, including views of the Lipovo Valley. We finish today’s trek at Potrk Katun.

After settling into the local household, we enjoy a welcome drink and dinner.

Day 5: Savina Voda Lake

Today, we experience breathtaking landscapes while walking through untouched wilderness. After a morning walk to Savina Voda Lake, we climb the hills toward the Sinjavina Plateau near Ružica Church. Continuing across Sinjavina, we reach Zabojsko Lake, where we relax and enjoy the pristine surroundings.

After lunch and rest, we continue to Gomile Katun, where we overnight—either camping or staying in a local household, depending on preference.

Hidden among Sinjavina cliffs and surrounded by dense coniferous forests, this emerald-green lake reaches a depth of 19 meters, placing it among the three deepest lakes in Montenegro. Its beauty is preserved under strict protection within Durmitor National Park.

Day 6: Sinjavina

After breakfast, the trail leads across Sinjavina meadows, through local villages, and onward to Durmitor Mountain, passing Vražje and Riblje Lakes near local farms.

This breathtaking national park was shaped by glaciers and is intersected by rivers and underground streams. Along the Tara River Canyon—the deepest in Europe—dense pine forests alternate with clear mountain lakes and support a wide range of endemic flora.

Durmitor National Park was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1980.

Overnight at a 3★ hotel in Žabljak.

Day 7: Jablan Lake

After breakfast, we begin a morning walk across the Durmitor meadows to Zmijinje Lake and Jablan Lake. Later, we proceed to the most popular site in the national park, Black Lake.

In the late afternoon, we enjoy a walk through the town center, followed by dinner and an overnight at the hotel.

Day 8: Valoviti Do

Today begins with a short transfer to Sedlo Pass, from where we start our hike to Valoviti Do. Passing through Zeleni Vir and Samar, we reach Škrčka Lake.

After a picnic and rest while enjoying spectacular views, we continue across Preradova Gora to Sušica, where transport awaits us. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 9: Rafting Tour

After breakfast and packing in Žabljak, we depart for rafting. After approximately one hour of driving, we reach Splavište, the rafting starting point in the Tara Canyon. Guides and equipment will be waiting for us, and after a safety briefing, our adventure begins.

Rafting on the Splavište–Žugića Luka section (Durmitor National Park) is not extreme. During the tour, you will enjoy stunning views of the Tara River Canyon, which reaches a depth of 1,300 m, making it the deepest canyon in Europe and the second deepest in the world after the Colorado Canyon.

We will see the Ljutica River, the strongest spring in Europe, the Đurđevića Tara Bridge, green whirlpools, and Žugića Luka, where the rafting ends.

After rafting, we transfer to the Đurđevića Tara Bridge for an organized lunch at the camp. There is also an optional zipline ride across the canyon.

Later, we drive to Biogradska Gora National Park and visit Biogradsko Lake, walking the 3 km trail around the lake.

Dinner and overnight at Bijeli Potok Cabins.
