Djurdjevica Tara bridge
One of the deepest canyons in the world, the Tara River gorge snakes along 48 miles (78 kms) of a total river length of 89 miles (144 kms). Completed in 1940, the Tara crossing is the highest and largest bridge in the region and includes an approach viaduct of 4 arches leading to a main span span of 448 feet (136.43 mtrs). It was this large arch over the river that was blown up in 1942 by Partisan’s looking to block an Italian-Chetnik offensive. A bridge engineer, Lazar Jaukovic, aided in the span’s demise and was eventually captured by the Italians and executed on the bridge. The arch was rebuilt after World War II in 1946.
The height of Tara bridge is somewhat murky. Some sources have it as low as 443 feet (135 mtrs) and as high as 564 feet (172 mtrs). The truth is probably somewhere in-between. Until I can travel to Montenegro and measure it myself, I will list it at 459 feet (140 mtrs). Tara bridge was designed and constructed by Mijat Trojanovi with Isaac Russo as the chief engineer.
Rafting is extremely popular on the Tara River and a great way to experience the bridge from below. Trips leave from Splaviste and can last from 1 to 3 days depending on the package you choose.Zabljak, Montenegro
Sasko Lake is still unknown and under- promoted location that is why its nature is very well preserved.
Sasko Lake is located in Ulcinj area , it’s surface is up to five and a half square kilometers and a depth of up to nine meters.
From the walls of ancient city of Svac one can clearly see the lake, over which are the Ducks, grebes, cormorants, herons, goby, gulls and other birds. Sas Lake, Ulcinj’s Salina and Ada Bojana are main resort of migratory birds that from the northern regions of Europe and Asia are flying to Italy and Africa.
Tranquility of Shas lake and shallow water of Ulcinj’s salina and Ada Bojana , provide migratory bird species peace until they rest and then taking off for warmer climes. Sas Lake was hunting ground, and because of the disturbance in the winter you could not see a large number of birds. Tired birds are, unfortunately, an easy target to hunters, but in recent times, there are not many on the lake.Ulcinj, Montenegro

In the past Susica river flows in usual river's valley. After glacial erosion the water of Sušica river created Susicko Jezero (Susica Lake), which belong to the group of few periodical lakes in Durmitor. The glacier which was moved through the Susica Canyon was 10 km long. During time of most intensive glaciation that glacier created some geological and morphological effects at the altitude 1140 m. Because of that influence Susicko Jezero was formed. During melting of glacier the lake existed like a permanent object.
Today Susicko jezero is a periodical hidrographic object. The water source of Susicko jezero lake is Susica river, which starts at the bottom of Skakala waterfalls. The lake is largest and full of water in spring time when glaciers melting. Susicko jezero is 450 m long, 200 m wide. The deepness is about 4-5 m, on some places also 7 m. The surface of lake is about 70.000-80.000 square metres and capacity is 220.000 cubic metres, the altitude at 1140 m. In the summer time, specially in late summer, the water of Sušičko lake disapear and you can see just a green grassy meadow.

Roman town Doclea is the most significant ancient locality in Montenegro. It is 4 km far away from Podgorica, up the river Moraca. It was situated on the wide flat plateau between the rivers Zeta, Moraca and Siralija Creek.
The strategic position was the main reason why the town was built at this specific place. The space bordered by three river basins was unapproachable during almost the whole year because high water level, and protected by upright cliffs and very easy to defend. Although it was defended by nature and protected by rivers, it was fortified by mighty walls, towers and bastions which surrounded plateau on which the town was situated.
From the 4th century AD, on the eastern side of the city, an area where Christians lived sprang up,giving rise to churches, and a large Episcopal basilica.
Some valuable examples of found grave inventory - vessels of pottery and glass, jewelery parts, tools, weapons and money, are part of the permanent exhibition of the Museum of the city.
Ancient Doclea was introduced in world archeology by discovery of the famous Podgorica glass, which is now kept in the Hermitage, the Russian Museum.
